Virgin Voyages makes it easier for Aussie agents to book

Virgin Voyages announces local booking channel ahead of its Australian debut. Janie Medbury reports.

HUMAN headline Richard Branson’s luxury cruise line, Virgin Voyages, is heading Down Under soon – and Australian travel advisors will soon be able to take advantage of a dedicated local booking channel.

The adults-only cruise line has partnered with Travel the World to launch the Voyage Store next month, making it easier for ‘First Mates’ to make bookings via a local Virgin Voyages expert.

The dedicated service offers 16% commission on the voyage fare, bookings that contribute to head-office targets, and a free phone number (1300 723 300), which is open from 9am to 5pm AEST.

“Introducing a local Voyage Store is a great step forward and demonstrates the ultimate commitment to our Australian and New Zealand First Mates,” the cruise line’s VP of International Sales, Shane Lewis-Riley, commented.

“We’re ramping up activity ahead of the brand’s debut in Australia this December, and this investment is meant to streamline the booking process for our partners. With travel demand at historic levels, we know how busy our First Mates can get. Sometimes, picking up the phone is the easiest option, and we’ll be there on the other end to help them maximise their time and to raise their sales.”

Interested agents can also invite their clients to take advantage of the brand’s Match and Sea More program, which allows cruisers to match their current loyalty status through Virgin Voyages’ loyalty program, The Sailing Club. Members will enjoy a range of benefits, including priority boarding, exclusive cocktail parties, a bar tab, and laundry services.

The Match and Sea More offer is available now for bookings made up until 31 December 2023, with perks available to be redeemed on voyages through 2024. For more information, head to ‘The Bridge Australia & New Zealand’ Facebook group or email [email protected].
