VIRGIN Australia is ramping up its activity in the corporate market, this week launching a significant campaign aiming to swell the membership ranks for its Business Flyer scheme.
The program, which works alongside the trade to provide a convenient management portal for corporate clients’ travel bookings and credits, offers discounts on published fares along with other benefits including “double dipping” on Velocity loyalty points, lounge memberships and a new Status Match offer.
VA Group Chief Commercial Officer, Dave Emerson, said since Virgin Australia Business Flyer launched in April last year it had already signed up tens of thousands of business customers. Corporate bookings have surged to 110% of pre-COVID levels, with Emerson saying the carrier “remains committed to industry-leading value, choice and award-winning service for both leisure and business travellers”.
“We’re proud to be announcing a market-leading offer for business travellers, supporting the many wonderful Australian businesses across the country as they make a strong return to travel this year. Since launching the Virgin Australia Business Flyer loyalty program last year, we’ve received an overwhelming response of businesses joining the program, and we look forward to the program expanding even further this year,” Emerson said.
SMEs which join the program by the end of March and meet eligible flight spend within 90 days of joining will receive a generous 150,000 bonus Velocity points for their business.
When signing up for the program, companies are asked whether they book direct with the carrier, exclusively through a travel agent, or a mix of the two. As well as the status match, the special incentive to join includes double status credits from today until 10 February across the VA network.
