TRAVELEX is preparing to open a series of new stores across Australia and New Zealand, and has also announced the extension of key contracts across the region.
Cairns Airport, The Glen in Melbourne, and Brookside and Carindale in Brisbane are among the recently opened locations, while both phases of Travelex’s digital airport initiative are now fully live at Adelaide Airport, including a self-serve kiosk and a cricket-themed store.
“It was wonderful to see the return of international travel last year, and Travelex has been an important partner of Adelaide Airport, contributing to our overall customer retail experience. The new stores are a great addition and fit seamlessly within our recently completed terminal expansion,” Adelaide Airport Managing Director Brenton Cox enthused.
The foreign exchange company secured four new airport contracts and 11 new off-airport sites across ANZ in 2022, bringing the total number of its trading stores across the region up to 100 (80 in Australia and 20 in New Zealand).
It has also recently extended other existing contracts across the region, including at Perth Airport, taking the partnership to 30 years.
“2022 was a resounding success for Travelex across the region – bouncing back post-pandemic, further strengthening our position as the market leading FX brand and investing in our digital future, thereby giving our customers greater convenience than ever before,” Travelex Managing Director ANZ Darren Brown said.
