Travelex launch click & collect at Brisbane Airport

Foreign exchange service Travelex has launched a foreign currency ATM click & collect service at Brisbane Airport, allowing customers to pre-order foreign cash online before collecting it from an airport ATM.

THE “industry first” service, which was also rolled out in the UK’s Heathrow Airport, means travellers can order up to A$800 in USD or Euro, and then securely collect their currency from selected ATMs at any time of the day using their phone and credentials, with no collection fees incurred.

As well as providing a convenient exchange solution for customers, Travelex Managing Director Darren Brown said the pick-up ATMs will also help dispel the belief that airport-based currency exchanges are more expensive than other retail locations.

Travelex indicated plans to add more currencies to the service and increase the number of ATMS at Brisbane and Heathrow airports, as well as an intention to bring the click & collect offering to other airports in the coming months.

Brisbane Airport Corporation’s Executive General Manager of Commercial, Martin Ryan, described the launch as “the next chapter” in the organisation’s “successful, long-standing relationship” with Travelex.

According to Ryan, the product “fits perfectly with our focus on innovative digital solutions and will help further streamline our travellers’ experience at the airport”, adding that the service will also ensure customers get the “best Travelex rates possible”.

Brisbane Airport has increasingly focused on digital solutions over recent years, including the launch of a digital currency airport experience and a digital departure card, while earlier this year, Travelex announced the launch of over 10 new stories in Australia and New Zealand as part of an ambitious expansion plan.
