TAG launches in New Zealand through local acquisition

The travel & event management company has acquired locally reputable Sounds Travel to mark its entry into New Zealand.

TAG has launched a New Zealand office, stamping its entry into the local market by acquiring leading travel agency, Sounds Travel.

Sounds will initially continue to run as a separate business unit, “Powered by TAG”, before its clientele are integrated into TAG’s global events and entertainment divisions.

The initiative aligns with TAG’s strategic plan to expand its global services and enhance its client portfolio, with Sounds having a particular focus on entertainment travel and luxury travel.

The travel agency has worked on projects such as a Robbie Williams tour, apocalyptic science fiction film Z for Zachariah, and fantasy drama television series Sweet Tooth.

It has also expanded into luxury travel, encompassing African safaris, expedition cruising, and Maldivian getaways.

“Our deliberate expansion into New Zealand not only fortifies our worldwide footprint but also reaffirms our dedication to providing unparalleled services in the travel and events industry,” TAG Managing Director APAC Shane Barr said.

TAG already boasts 19 offices globally, including Australia, the United States, the United Kingdom, South Africa, and Saudi Arabia.
