SYDNEY Airport has teamed up with United Airlines, Memphis Tourism, and Travel Texas to launch the Houston Training Platform – an online portal designed specifically for Australian travel agents.
The interactive learning experience offers insights into America’s soul-filled South, including extensive information on the flying experience with United airlines, the distinctive food, drink and music of the region, and local events that travellers can enjoy.
Agents who successfully complete the training in record time will go in the running to win a spot on the 2025 Houston familiarisation trip, a fully hosted itinerary including accommodation, iconic experiences, and meals.
“We’re pleased to support United Airlines, as well as Memphis Tourism and Travel Texas to showcase this incredible part of the world and promote the destination knowledge of America’s South to Australian travel agents,” said Greg Botham, Sydney Airport Group’s Executive, Aviation Growth and Strategy.
“In particular, Houston is an extremely powerful transport hub, and United Airlines’ Sydney to Houston service connects Sydney to 100 cities in key US and South American destinations providing exceptional connectivity for passengers.
“This project highlights our commitment to innovative industry engagements that drive passenger demand for our airline partners.”
Belinda Condon, Untied Airlines’ Leisure Sales Manager Australia, stated “by equipping Australian travel agents with in-depth knowledge of Houston and its surrounding areas, we are paving the way for more travellers to experience the vibrant attractions that make the South truly unique”.
United Airlines currently flies three times a week in November and December 2024 and will be available daily for the remainder of the northern winter season.
For the chance to win a place on the 2025 Houston famil trip, agents need to complete all five modules on the Houston Training Platform before 13 October.
