Royal’s Anthem to arrive in Australia next year

The cruise line is hailing its 2025-26 summer season Down Under as "one for the books", Janie Medbury writes.

ROYAL Caribbean International has revealed it will switch up its Aussie deployment next year, with Anthem of the Seas set to make her debut here in November 2025. The Quantum-class cruise ship will join Voyager of the Seas, which will be homeported in Brisbane from December 2025.

The announcement signals a change in the cruise line’s usual deployment of two Quantum-class ships – Quantum of the Seas and Ovation of the Seas – in exchange for one Quantum and one Voyager-class vessel, resulting in a slight reduction in passenger capacity.

During her inaugural season in Australia, Anthem will offer 24 itineraries from Sydney, ranging from three to 18 nights in length. The sailings will encompass New Zealand and the Australian coast, as well as a number of islands in the South Pacific.

Meanwhile, Voyager will operate 20 sailings between seven and nine nights in length, visiting the new destination of Luganville, Vanuatu, in addition to favourites such as Noumea, New Caledonia and Port Vila.

Although shorter in duration compared to previous seasons, the sailings on offer will pack more of a punch, as part of Royal’s goal to deliver “bolder” cruises.

“Between the excitement of Anthem of the Seas making its Australian debut, Voyager’s return Down Under and more weekend getaways than ever before, the 2025-2026 summer season is one for the books,” said Gavin Smith, Vice President and Managing Director of Australia and New Zealand at Royal Caribbean.

“Every kind of holidaymaker can make memories in more ways than one with a varied line-up, from short getaways to a longer sailing from Asia, and new experiences like the show-stopping ‘We Will Rock You’ musical production, ice-skating shows and six exclusive family adventures created by Royal Caribbean and the Wiggly Friends.”
