REX has launched its long-awaited loyalty program, with travellers now able to register to begin earning Rex Flyer points and status points across the airline’s domestic and regional networks.
Loyalty members will immediately receive a bonus of 5,000 Rex points when they sign up before 02 January 2024, while all members will see their reward points doubled for bookings made by 02 January 2024, regardless of the date of travel.
Rex passengers can earn up to seven points for every dollar spent on airfares, and up to five points for each dollar spent on selected Rex Extras, including additional baggage and seat selection.
Starting mid-November, members will be able to use their points to redeem flights with three flight reward options: Anytime, Getaway and Ultimate. The Anytime option lets travellers redeem at last-seat-available basis, which Rex claims provides the most flexibility of all frequent flyer programs in Australia.
Members can move up the ranks of three Tier Status levels, including Sapphire, Emerald and Diamond, with qualifying members to enjoy the Tier Status benefits from early 2024.
A unique element to the program will see all unsold seats put up for grabs at the cheapest reward redemption rate (Ultimate) progressively from 48 hours before a scheduled departure.
“The program with its superior benefits means we can at last reward our passengers for the loyalty they have shown us over many years as we have fought hard – often against almost impossible odds – to provide them with safe, affordable and reliable air services,” Rex Deputy Chairman John Sharp said.
The staggered rollout of the program will be complemented by new airport lounges, with construction now underway in Adelaide, Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. For more details on Rex Flyer and to learn how to become a member, visit rex.com.au.
