THE launch of six new modules in Tokyo Tourism’s travel advisor training platform this week couldn’t have come at a better time, with the long-awaited relaxation of travel restrictions seeing a massive spike in demand for travel to Japan.
The popular training initiative now features a total of 14 modules, with the additional section giving travel agents and their clients insights into what it’s like travelling to the land of cherry blossoms in the “new normal” post-pandemic environment.
Tokyo Tourism’s local representative, Alison Roberts-Brown, noted that the restrictions are relaxing in less than a week, with the additional modules also featuring useful tips on etiquette, how to avoid crowds, sustainable initiatives, a guide for improved accessibility for disabled travellers and plenty of information on what’s new.
“Since the Tokyo 2020 Games took place many areas in Tokyo have been redeveloped and new facilities have been constructed, radically altering the cityscape,” Roberts-Brown told travelBulletin.
Travel agents who complete the new training will also be entered in a competition with a major prize of a trip for two to Tokyo, staying in the five-star Hotel Chinzanso.
