Rail Online appoints Blows to newly created role

Rail Online has appointed Kirsty Blows to the newly created position of General Manager Australia & New Zealand.

Rail Online has appointed Kirsty Blows to the newly created position of General Manager Australia & New Zealand.

Blows has more than 15 years of experience working in the international rail sector, during which time she has held senior management roles with specialist wholesaler Rail Plus and rail distributor Rail Europe, where she was most recently Customer Care Manager Asia Pacific.

Rail Online Chief Executive James Dunne said Blows, who will take responsibility for all operations in both markets, will bring the business more than just expertise in the global rail sector.

Dunne described Blows’ understanding of the two country’s travel sectors as “unrivalled”.

“We built the general manager role around Kirsty because no one else offers that combination of world-class knowledge and exceptional local connections,” he said.

Blows said she is excited to join Rail Online at the very beginning of its journey.

“The momentum that Rail Online has achieved in such a short time is extraordinary, as is the support it has attracted from travel agents, principals, technology partners and investors,” she said.

“This is a rare opportunity to not only help drive the company’s growth trajectory, but to help Rail Online team realise a vision to establish the world’s most valued and frequently used travel app for rail and public transport.”
