Qantas launches new flexible membership option

The Aussie carrier has introduced an alternative option to its annual Qantas Club membership, Janie Medbury writes.

THE new subscription membership offers customers the flexibility and choice to enjoy access to Qantas lounges on an ad hoc basis, allowing them to pay for 28-day access to the airline’s 30 branded lounges.

Available now, the membership auto-renews every month and can be cancelled at any time up until three days prior to renewal, with benefits remaining in place till the end of that cycle.

Qantas Club Flexible members will receive a digital membership card only via the Qantas app, and will also enjoy Domestic On Departure Upgrade rewards and complimentary Qantas Frequent Flyer Membership.

“We have been focussed on listening and responding to customer feedback over the past 12 months, and we know our customers are looking for flexible options when it comes to lounge access,” a Qantas spokesperson said.

“Qantas Club Flexible gives customer the choice to enjoy the benefits of our Qantas lounges in a time frame that suits them – the perfect option for travellers who don’t fly every month.”

Customers who sign up for a Qantas Club Flexible membership and travel before 31 March 2025 will receive a bonus benefit of additional checked baggage.

The new subscription option comes as the carrier ramps up investment across its lounge network, including the introduction of a new lounge in Hobart, a refresh of the Adelaide lounge precinct, and a refurbishment of Broome Qantas Club.
