Qantas expands India network

QANTAS has announced a codeshare expansion with IndiGo, which will see the carrier add eight India destinations to its network.

The agreement initially launched last year to offer travellers connections from Qantas flights in Bengaluru and Delhi onto IndiGo services to other major Indian cities, including Mumbai and Chennai, as well as smaller destinations like Pune and Goa.

Under the new phase of the partnership, customers will be able to travel to an extra eight cities across India, bringing the number of Indian destinations available for connection from Delhi and Bengaluru to 21.

The new codeshare destinations include Guwahati, Indore, Chandigarh, Mangalore, Jaipur, Nagpur, Thiruvananthapuram and Visakhapatnam.

Qantas Frequent Flyers can earn and redeem points on connecting IndiGo flights, with IndiGo recognising Qantas Frequent Flyer benefits for tiered members, including priority check-in and priority baggage.

“The new codeshare flights will allow our customers to enjoy more connections across India from our Delhi and Bengaluru gateways and have their luggage checked straight through to their final destination,” Qantas Chief Customer Office Markus Svensson said.
