Qantas deepens loyalty incentives

The aggressive game that is airline loyalty wrote yet another chapter this week, as Qantas inked a follow-up agreement with Accor that offers complimentary Gold status in the hotelier’s ALL program for eligible Qantas frequent flyers who link accounts before 12 August.

THE latest installment of the loyalty promotion, which followed a deal between the two brands in November last year, is open to Qantas loyalty members who hold Silver, Gold, Platinum and Platinum One Status, as well as Points Club Plus and Chairman’s Lounge members.

The incentives to become a Qantas frequent flyer are being stockpiled constantly by the Flying Kangaroo, with Gold status in Accor’s ALL program handing travellers a host of juicy benefits, including room upgrades, early check-in or late check-out, and guaranteed room availability.

Qantas Platinum One members will also receive a special invite to fast-track to ALL Platinum status when they link accounts before 12 Aug, representing the first time in Accor’s history that travellers have not needed to stay at one of its properties to achieve the sought-after privilege.

Frequent flyers and ALL members who have already linked their accounts are also eligible for the status match.

The Qantas tie-up with Accor is just the latest announcement in the hotly contested loyalty wars between Virgin Australia and Qantas, who have been fiercely tussling over each other’s membership ranks with especially high freneticism in recent years.
