NTIA: But wait, there’s more!

The Australian Federation of Travel Agents (AFTA) has confirmed the addition of a “Most Outstanding Non-Branded Agency Group” category to this year’s National Travel Industry Awards (NTIA).

THE Australian Federation of Travel Agents (AFTA) has confirmed the addition of a “Most Outstanding Non-Branded Agency Group” category to this year’s National Travel Industry Awards (NTIA).

The deadline for nomination (which can be both self- and peer-submitted) is now 22 July, after a recent extension, with submissions able to come in video or written format.

An independent reviewer will shortlist the finalists, except in the “Most Popular” categories, which will be voted on by the industry, with the top five proceeding as finalists.

“As a member organisation that exists to serve all of our members, we welcome and act on member feedback and the confirmation that there will be a Most Outstanding Non-Branded Agency Group Award reflects this commitment,” said AFTA Chief Executive Officer Dean Long.

“It was an unintentional oversight and, based on the number of calls, Most Outstanding Non-Branded Agency Group is going to be hotly contested and heavily supported.”

Long said AFTA has tried to streamline the nomination and submission process, as well as the event itself, due to the overwhelming feedback from members, sponsors, and suppliers.

“We know the process is a little different this year which reflects the unique circumstances we have all been living with including time pressures and workloads.

“NTIA 2022 is going to be every bit the celebration of the wonderful people and businesses that make Australia’s travel sector so wonderful, and we are grateful for the ongoing support.”

The highly anticipated return of NTIA will be held at ICC Sydney on 15 October, with Singapore Airlines as the major sponsor.
