Link ties up with Virgin’s Velocity

Customers travelling on Link's 'Flexible' and 'Freedom' fares will be able to enter VA lounges at Brisbane, Canberra and Sydney airports, with Link CEO Andrew Major saying the move is "very significant for our airline".

EAST coast regional carrier Link Airways has inked a new loyalty partnership with Virgin Australia’s Velocity Rewards program, giving its premium passengers access to VA’s Lounges and the ability to earn Velocity points based on the fare paid.

Customers travelling on Link’s ‘Flexible’ and ‘Freedom’ fares will be able to enter VA lounges at Brisbane, Canberra and Sydney airports, with Link CEO Andrew Major saying the move is “very significant for our airline”.

Link Airways operates 34-passenger Saab turboprops from bases in Brisbane, Canberra, Melbourne and Sydney to destinations across NSW, Qld and Tas, with the network including Armidale, Biloela, Bundaberg, Coffs Harbour, Dubbo, Inverell, Hobart, Narrabri, Newcastle, Orange, Tamworth and Wollongong.

“These announcements reflect our ongoing commitment to enhance the Link Airways product and bring new benefits to our loyal and valued customers,” Major enthused.

The Velocity update coincided with the announcement of Link’s new Brisbane-Bundaberg route, with flights timed to allow corporate travlelers to spend a full day at their destination, while also facilitating the potential for weekend stays.
