KARBO has more than 20 years of experience in the travel and tourism sectors including Group CEO for Wendy Wu and COO for the Moresand Group in the UK.
CEO Steve Labroski said the appointment would shift the business to the next level following several years of exponential growth.
“Joe has all the credentials to drive our business in the right direction and create sustainable, long-term growth for the itravel group,” he said.
Most recently, Karbo worked alongside Halina Kubica as CEO of Greece & Mediterranean Travel Centre after returning to Australia late last year for family reasons.
“itravel has always been a company that I’ve admired and to be part of their journey for the next chapters is very exciting,” he said. “There’s a lot of interesting projects on the go, so it’s great to be joining the business now, supporting Steve and the itravel network.”
The appointment follows other recent itravel hires including Mark Brooker, who joined last week as its new head of Wholesale, Cherie Bowman, who took on the new Virtuoso-affiliated Luxe by itravel division in April, and former Helloworld executive Josh Gordon, recruited as Head of Commercial in October 2022.
