IHG “supercharges” operations and growth team

The hotel conglomerate has made a raft of new appointments in the Asia Pacific region.

IHG Hotels & Resorts has supercharged its senior operations and growth leadership teams, which will further enable it to drive operational excellence and across its hotel estate.

James Young, Directors of Operations Luxury & Lifestyle

The company has appointed three Directors of Operations to lead its respective estates: Luxury & Lifestyle (James Young); Premium & Essentials (Emma Hynes); and Franchise (Joel Gordon).

The change means having three senior DOps who will take full responsibility for the end-to-end performance of their smaller, segment-aligned portfolio, as opposed to a single head of operations with responsibility for more than 100 hotels across all brands.

They will be out in hotels regularly, driving operational excellence and ensuring IHG consistently has “brand-defining” locations which deliver on performance and guest expectations.

Joel Gordon, Directors of Operations Franchise

The DOps report through to Managing Director Australasia & Pacific Matt Tripolone and will work actively with IHG corporate stakeholders to drive performance and unlock further value for IHG’s hotel owners.

Meanwhile, joining IHG’s growth team will be Director, Development Australasia & Pacific Cameron Burke, Director, New Hotels Australasia & Pacific Malcolm Zancanaro, and Corporate Counsel, Australasia & Pacific Isabella Ledden.
