Helloworld Travel will issue $4.5 million worth of shares to its agents under its latest franchise share loyalty program.
To be issued to advisors by the end of October, members of branded and associate networks in Australia and New Zealand, as well as members of the Alatus network, will receive the shares in exchange for their continued commitment to the business.
“This reaffirms Helloworld’s position as the leading franchise network in Australia and New Zealand,” Chief Executive Officer Andrew Burnes said.
“The franchise members are part of a broader group which also includes our buying group networks and our broker networks on both sides of the Tasman,” he added.
The Helloworld chief added that air ticket sales are up over the last two months as prices continue to normalise, while sales of the company’s non-air products are also up between 5% and 25%.
“People are taking savings on their airfares and putting this into longer stays, bigger cabins, upgraded hotels, and other upgraded services, which is a very positive outcome for the industry more broadly,” Burnes noted.
The news follows the gathering of more than 300 agents from across the Helloworld Group
this month, who attended a series of events focused on “tips and tricks” associated with airfare retailing.
Hosted by Air Tickets and the Helloworld Training Academy, the five masterclass events in five states covered GDS shortcuts for fares and best pricing, fare conditions, families, polices, mixed-class fares, round-the-world fares and upselling.
The sessions were co-hosted by Travelport with support also provided by Qantas, Lufthansa, Malaysia Airlines, Singapore Airlines, Air New Zealand, Delta Air Lines, United Airlines, Cathay Pacific and Qatar Airways.
