Globus shuffles its sales team

GLOBUS family of brands (GFOB), the parent company of Avalon Waterways, Globus and Cosmos, has announced several new appointments as part of an ongoing restructure of its Australasian sales team. The changes follow the departure of National Sales Operations Manager Anoushka Kudav and Regional Sales Manager NSW/ACT Alexa Papoulias earlier this week, as well as the exit of long-time Head of Sales Peter Douglas in May.

Gia Acitelli (pictured) has joined the business as National Sales Leader, which will see her head up the planning, implementation and direction of national sales activities for the Business Development Managers and Sales Coordinators. She brings a wealth of expertise in commercial strategy to the role, along with 20 years of travel industry experience.

Acitelli most recently worked for Virgin Atlantic as its Commercial Manager, ANZ, with previous roles including General Manager Australia & New Zealand at APG Network and Regional General Manager and Sales and Marketing Manager at Virgin Atlantic Airways.

“I am thrilled to be joining Globus family of brands as National Sales Leader. I look forward to working with the team to nurture its current sales partnerships and to developing new opportunities for the company to further drive results for the remainder of 2023 and beyond,” Acitelli shared.

GFOB has also promoted two of its existing sales staff members, Greg Schein and Sarah Hoskin, who have both been with the company for a number of years. Schein came on board in 2016 as BDM, before progressing to Regional Sales Manager of Queensland and Western Australia in 2018, and also taking on South Australia and the Northern Territory in 2022. He will now take on the role of Strategic Business Leader ANZ, where he will be tasked with identifying, developing, and driving new sales opportunities.

Meanwhile, Hoskin has been internally promoted to National Account Manager for Helloworld, giving her the responsibility of managing and fostering strategic relationships with the company’s Helloworld and ETG national accounts. She first joined GFOB in 2019 under the title of Business Development Manager, overseeing Victoria and Tasmania.

“We are delighted to welcome Gia to GFOB and congratulate Greg and Sarah on their new positions within the company,” Brett Simon, Head of Commercial ANZ for Globus family of brands, commented. “It’s an exciting time across GFOB’s portfolio with extended seasons for Avalon Waterways, new launches and new product offerings coming in 2024 across all three brands.

“Gia, Greg, and Sarah’s honed experience within the industry combined with their passion and proven track record in sales will be pivotal in growing our relationships with agents and industry colleagues and continuing to meet and exceed the demand from travellers,” he enthused.
