THE Appointment Group (TAG) has welcomed Lauren Gainey onboard in the freshly established role of Commercial Director, APAC. With more than 20 years’ experience in the tourism and aviation sectors under her belt, she is well-poised to forge the business’ expansion across the Asia-Pacific.
Gainey joins from Qantas, where she led the airline’s commercial partnerships division for more than four years. She also built up her skillset during stints at Flight Centre, IHG, and Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide.
“This an exciting new role for TAG in APAC,” TAG Managing Director of APAC, Shane Barr, said. “Lauren’s relationship building skills promise to be a significant asset, fostering stronger connections with our partners and suppliers.

The appointment comes as TAG enjoys a strong start to the year, having recently secured several new acquisitions, including CCM and APEX Travel in Australia, as well as two prominent New Zealand travel and event organisations, Sound Travels and Red Hot Travel & Events.
