Flight Centre reinforces senior executive with two new faces

The travel giant has added some extra muscle to its core leadership team with two decorated business leaders from its global network.

Flight Centre Travel Group (FCTG) has integrated two new faces from fields afar into its Global Leisure senior executive team, welcoming one of its highly experienced New Zealand leaders into the fold alongside an acquired name.

Reporting to FCTG Global Leisure CEO, James Kavanagh, the new additions include Victoria (Tori) Courtney, who has taken on the role of Global Leisure Supply Leader to fulfil concurrently with her duties as Managing Director of Flight Centre New Zealand and Director of the Flight Centre NZ Foundation.

Courtney brings nearly 20 years of service to her new responsibilities within the FCTG inner leadership circle, during which time she has worked across multiple divisions of the organisation in Australia, the UK and New Zealand.

In addition, Courtney serves as Vice President of the Travel Agent’s Association of New Zealand.

“I am deeply passionate about all areas of supply and am excited to be working alongside such talented colleagues and suppliers to deploy strategies to deliver growth to both FCTG and our valued partners,” Courtney said.

Another new addition to FCTG’s top brass is Sonia Davies, the existing Chief Executive of UK luxury leader, Scott Dunn, which was acquired by Flight Centre Travel Group in early 2023.

Joining Scott Dunn in 2018, Davies oversees the brand’s global business operations in the UK, USA and Singapore and is a highly decorated international business leader.

Davies sits on the Advisory Boards of WiHTL, Six Senses Customer Advisory and the Marriott Luxury Leisure Advisory Council, and was named in 2022 as one of the ‘Wome to Watch’ by Cranfield University in the UK.

“I hope to provide a strong voice and perspective for the Northern hemisphere source markets, which are some of the most important in the leisure and luxury leisure travel markets and where, as a group, we have big growth plans.”

The additions of Courtney and Davies completes the senior executive team of FCTG Global Leisure CEO, James Kavanagh.

“Tori and Sonia bring extensive experience and specialised knowledge to our executive team and will play important roles in shaping the future of our global leisure division,” Kavanagh said.
