Firenze to join Carnival’s Italian fiesta

CCL has taken delivery of its second ship from sister cruise line Costa, the 2016-built Carnival Firenze

THE Carnival Cruise Line fleet is set to grow to 27 ships, as Carnival Firenze was recently handed over in Cadiz from sister brand Costa Cruises.

Firenze will become the second ship in the fleet to feature “Carnival Fun Italian Style”, as she is set to be refurbished over the next two months to on board many of the favourite features the cruise line’s guests know and love.

Team members from both Carnival and Costa met on Firenze’s bridge to complete the handover, with her to soon sail year-round from Long Beach from 25 April.

A wide range of cruises will be available, including three- and four-day cruises to Mexico and Santa Catalina Island, and five-, six-, and seven-day voyages to the Mexican Riviera, visiting Cabo San Lucas, Mazatlan, and Puerto Vallarta.

Firenze will immerse guests in Italian architecture, with her atrium modelled after the Piazza del Duomo in Florence – the ship’s namesake city.

Her Lido deck is inspired by the Italian Riviera, while she will also feature many food and beverage venues which are currently popular on Carnival Venezia, such as La Strada Grill.

Guests will enjoy activities like Festa Italiana, a deck party where Little Italy meets Lido, an Italian-inspired youth programming for kids and teens, and more.
