FLIGHT Centre Travel Group (FCTG) has launched new travel insurance, in what is the first time the company has ever put its name on such a product.
The new range of branded travel insurance products is bookable through Flight Centre, Travel Associates, and Cruiseabout in Australia from this week, with other markets to launch in the coming months.
The exclusive travel insurance range is backed by global provider Europ Assistance, and allows FCTG’s core leisure brands to market a travel insurance product designed specifically for its key demographics and segments.
The range includes a uniquely developed travel insurance product specific for cruise holidays, as well as inclusions for luxury travellers and families.
FCTG Global Leisure Chief Executive Officer James Kavanagh said the new product range offers a more comprehensive and tailored insurance coverage for peace of mind when travelling.
“Our customers put immense trust in us to bring their travel experiences to life, and we firmly believe comprehensive travel insurance is a core part of this experience,” he said.
“We believe this is a world class travel insurance offering for protection and peace of mind, and ultimately this will mean a better overall holiday experience for our customers.”
The launch of Flight Centre Travel Insurance coincides the launch of the Flight Centre brand’s a new Captain’s Pack, offering a 5% discount on insurance with the Value, Plus, and Cruise tiers.
Flight Centre Global Managing Director Andrew Stark said more than 75% per cent of Flight Centre customers in Australia attach a Captain’s Pack to their travel booking because it offers extra value and peace of mind.
“Travellers can add a Captain’s Pack to their booking and automatically receive value adds and peace of mind with lost baggage tracking and bonus spending money, with travellers able to scale up their value as they want to include extras such as our 5 per cent discount on travel insurance,” he said.
Europ Assistance Chief Executive Officer Anna Gladman said the collaboration with FCTG creates a compelling travel insurance offer for Australian travellers.
