Expedia brings Afterpay to Aussie travellers

The travel tech platform has partnered with the Buy Now, Pay Later leader to make travel more flexible for Aussies. Janie Medbury reports.

EXPEDIA Group has teamed up with Afterpay to offer Australian travellers a more flexible and accessible way to pay for their holidays. The buy now, pay later option will be available from this month via a co-branded experience in the Afterpay app.

Holidaymakers can opt to use Afterpay’s ‘Pay in 4’ product to spread their payment over six-to-eight weeks with zero interest, while browsing and booking Expedia Group’s global supply of more than three million properties around the world.

“We’re excited to partner with Afterpay in Australia, giving travellers more flexibility to book their dream trip,” Expedia Group Vice President, Strategic Partnerships & Affiliates, Clayton Nelson said.

“This collaboration reaffirms our commitment to growing and enhancing the traveller experience through cutting-edge technologies, empowering our partners to deliver great experiences to their customers and drive customer loyalty.”

Afterpay EVP and Country Manager ANZ Katrina Konstas said the partnership was timely, “as the nation’s peak travel period fast approaches”, aligns with its “mission to power an economy in which everyone wins”.
