CATO unveils keynote speaker for IWD Lunch

The highly anticipated event will take place in Brisbane on Thursday 07 March at the Calile Hotel, Janie Medbury writes.

RENOWNED Australian travel writer and author Nina Karnikowski is set to empower and inspire as the keynote speaker for The Council of Australian Tour Operators’ (CATO) upcoming annual International Women’s Day (IWD) luncheon.

The Sydney-based sustainable travel advocate boasts a career that spans over a decade, with her published works including the thought-provoking memoir The Mindful Traveller, as well as Go Lightly, Make a Living Living, and The Writer Within.

“Karnikowski’s body of work exemplifies the transformative power of travel in addressing pressing social and environmental challenges, offering a perspective on the positive impact that conscientious travel can influence on the world,” CATO shared.

This year’s event will focus on the theme of ‘Our Rising Stars’, with the goal of celebrating and empowering emerging talent in the travel industry. The luncheon will include a panel discussion in which the Council’s female members share their insights and personal journeys.

CATO Managing Director, Brett Jardine, said the response to the event so far had been overwhelming. “We sold out our initial allocation of tickets pre-Christmas, but have now been able to secure extra space to cater for demand. Additional tickets are now available, but we anticipate they will sell out quickly.”

Tickets are priced at $150 per person, including a three-course lunch and beverages – secure your spot here.
