THE Council of Australian Tour Operators (CATO) revealed more details about its upcoming World Earth Day lunch in Brisbane later this month, revealing several new speakers who will address attendees about the importance of sustainability in the travel sector.
G Adventures Managing Director Sean Martin has been revealed as the emcee for the event, adding some extra weight to the sponsorship G Adventures is already lending to the gathering, alongside the Italian National Tourist Board and Hurtigruten.
Other speakers include FCTG, Chief Sustainability Officer Michelle Degenhardt, Boeing, Regional Sustainability Lead Heidi Hauf, Hurtigruten Managing Director Damian Perry, and The Travel Corporation’s Managing Director Toni Ambler – with all four representing the key segments of aviation, cruise, retail and touring.
“CATO has assembled a fantastic panel of experts from four different sectors of the travel industry, guests will be inspired by these leaders, through a thought-provoking and impactful panel discussion, designed to educate and stimulate further conversations,” CATO MD Brett Jardine said.
“As the peak industry body for the land-supply sector, it is important that we take a lead in highlighting the need for a sustainable and responsible approach to travel.”
Tickets to the event, which will take place on 21 April, are priced at $135 per person or $1,350 for a table of ten, which includes a two-course meal, beverages and a post event networking.
The lunch follows CATO’s recent Women in Travel event last month.
