THE Council of Australian Tour Operators (CATO) has announced its full program of speakers for the highly anticipated Crisis, Risk & Resilience Conference, which takes place on Monday 15 May at Novotel Sydney Central.
The speakers were selected from a diverse range of sectors across the industry that are relevant to key scenarios of crisis and risk, including Managing Director of Chimu Adventures, Chad Carey (pictured).
Carey will share a moving review of crisis and in action, and how travel businesses must be prepared for the unexpected. He will be joined by Aaron Zoanetti, CATO Board Director and Partner & Travel Law Specialist at Pointon Partners, who will address the topic of Legal Essentials – Agent of Principal.
Also taking to the stage is Gow Gates Insurance Director, Brad Kelly, who will look at the reality of travel risk, the value of assessing and understanding your vulnerability, and risk aversion.
Additionally, attendees will gain an inside view on airport operations and disaster preparation from Sydney Airport’s Greg Hay, as well as learn about cyber security from Rock IT’s Nik Devidas.
Rounding out the line-up is Allisa O’Connell, Head of People & Culture at Flight Centre Travel Group. She will discuss crisis leadership, and how the impact of a crisis can be minimised by well-prepared teams and effective decision-making.
The audience will also enjoy talks from a panel of experts sharing their view on changing landscapes, and what the future may hold for each of their specialties.
Moderated by Roslyn Ranse, founder of Travel Agent Achievers, the panel comprises of Crooked Compass founder, Lisa Pagotto; Student Horizons Managing Director, Jamie Wansey; Scenic Executive General Manager, Aleisha Fittler; Entire Travel Group Managing Director, Brad McDonnell; and G Adventures Managing Director, Sean Martin.
