Ambler takes charge at TTC

The Travel Corporation (TTC) has announced significant changes to its leadership team, JANIE MEDBURY writes.

TONI Ambler will take on the role of Managing Director for TTC Tour Brands Oceania, effective tomorrow, in light of the retirement of  Travel Corporation’s long-standing CEO, David Hosking.

Instead of directly replacing Hosking, TTC has instead restructured its management team, which will see AAT Kings CEO Ben Hall and Adventure World MD Neil Rodgers now report directly to Alastair Campbell, who has rejoined the business as Interim CEO Specialist and Adventure Brands, based in the UK.

Meanwhile, Director of Commercial Industry Relations ANZ, Scott Cleaver, will relocate to the United States to report directly to the newly appointed CEO TTC Tour Brands, Melissa DaSilva.

Cleaver is tasked with spearheading a global TTC Touring Brands sales project, with his former local responsibilities to now fall under Ambler’s remit.

Upon accepting her new position, Ambler (pictured) said, “these changes will help position TTC for continued success as we enhance our focus on local leadership, strong trade partnerships and strategic alignment across our Australia and New Zealand region”.

TTC also confirmed Uniworld MD Alice Ager will continue to report to CEO Ellen Bettridge.

Following TTC  Tours Brands’ win at the NTIA Awards over the weekend, the outgoing Dave Hosking added, “I can’t think of a better farewell than to see how much our brands are valued by the Australian travel community”.

“With such a capable and dedicated local leadership team, I know TTC’s industry presence and trade relationships will only strengthen over time.”

The changes were made under the direction of Chairman elect, Carl Leaver, who is set to visit Australia on the week beginning 11 November to elaborate further on the future direction of the brand in the region.
