AFTA to hold Women in Travel Summit

The one-day March Summit will celebrate empowerment, diversity, and inclusion, AFTA said.

THE Australian Federation of Travel Agents’ (AFTA) launch event for this year will be a one-day Women in Travel Summit on 13 March.

Celebrating empowerment, diversity, and inclusion, the Summit, held at Hotel Swissotel Sydney, will include a series of keynote speakers, panel sessions, and breakout rooms showcasing the programs and innovations that support women.

There will also be networking opportunities, and a headshot studio on-site for attendees to have professional photos taken.

Chief Executive Officer Dean Long said AFTA wants to celebrate the fact 72% of font-line employees in the travel industry are women, as are 74% of middle management positions.

“Our Women in Travel Summit is our first event and is timed to allow participants to maximise their travel budgets by following the CLIA Awards also being held in Sydney that week,” he said.

“This Summit promotes the value of diversity and inclusion and allows us to analysis how we continue our great travel culture.

“We want to celebrate what makes our industry great and continue to progress our advocacy agenda as we shape the future of travel together.”

As usual, ATAS businesses and employees will enjoy special discounted pricing for the event, with tickets on sale now – click here.
