AFTA reveals panellists for Women in Travel Summit

THE upcoming Women in Travel Summit will focus on workplace learnings to drive change, the Australian Federation of Travel Agents Limited (AFTA) has announced.

Lyn Wells, Travel Consultant at American Express Global Business Travel and winner of Most Outstanding Travel Consultant – Corporate at the 2022 NTIAs, will be one of the panellists leading the discussion on how the industry can best support women in the workplace.

Angela Middleton, Senior Manager Sales AUS/NZ at Norwegian Cruise Line, and Kerrie McCallum, Editorial Director – Premium Food, Travel and Health at News Corp, will join Wells on stage for the first session.

The second session will shine a spotlight on career opportunities, challenges, solutions and inspiration, with panellists Nicola Strudwick, General Manager – Sales at Travellers Choice, Kathryn O’Brie, General Manager Australia, Air New Zealand, and Abbé Lunn, Key Partnerships Manager at Intrepid Travel driving the conversation.

Alisha Dopper, Head of People and Process at Express Travel Group, will emcee the event, while the moderator for both panels will be the founder of Travel Agent Achievers, NTIA Finalist and mobile travel professional at itravel, Roslyn Ranse (pictured).

“Why is it that so many women choose to work in travel? This is the question ATAS accredited business and other suppliers will be answering in our discussions at the Women in Travel Summit,” AFTA CEO Dean Long commented.

“Businesses have known for a long time that inclusive workplaces deliver better results, and this is backed by research data.”

“What attendees and our panellists will unpack at the Summit are the areas where travel get it right as well as the areas where we can all work together to drive improvement.”
