Aeronology and Journey Beyond team up

A new partnership between Melbourne-based travel technology innovator Aeronology and experiential tourism giant Journey Beyond seems to be a perfect match.

A NEW partnership between Melbourne-based travel technology innovator Aeronology and experiential tourism giant Journey Beyond seems to be a perfect match. Aeronology, which is already the platform of choice for Express Travel Group travel agents and is seeking to significantly boost its presence on the global stage, will add the Journey Beyond portfolio to its offering, making booking of products like The Ghan, the Indian Pacific, Sal Salis Ningaloo Reef and more part of its standard seamless reservations flow. For its part, Journey Beyond will implement the Aeronology platform in its call centres in Albury and Adelaide, with the move said to significantly simplify the booking of air product for its customers.

“This is a wonderful connection point for two Australian companies,” said Aeronology co-founder Russell Carstensen. “Aeronology delivers a modern, efficient and more profitable way for travel advisors to do business. Journey Beyond has an extensive national footprint and is one of the largest experiential tourism businesses in the country, so we’re delighted to bring these amazing brands and experiences into our booking platform,” he said.

Peter Egglestone, Journey Beyond Chief Revenue Officer, said the company had been looking for the right point of sale booking tool for its travel centre teams. “Our search has ended in our own back yard with Aeronology,” he said, noting that Qantas naming Aeronology as a Preferred Technology Partner had brought the tech firm into focus. “Like many companies at the moment, we are being impacted by a shortage of travel experts. Aeronology’s simple-to-use booking system allows our team to be at least four times more productive when booking air segments. This means we can continue delivering a great service to our customers.”

The Aeronology platform also facilitates the servicing of ancillary air products and special service needs without any special training, Egglestone added. “This will fundamentally change the way Journey Beyond provides air services to our customers,” he added.
