WITH cruising back stronger than ever, CLIA’s travel agent community has an enormous amount to be proud of – and now’s the time to honour those achievements.
Nominations for CLIA’s 21st annual Cruise Industry Awards in Australasia are now open, but only until the end of November. This is our industry’s chance to celebrate the critical role Australian and New Zealand travel agents have played in cruising’s resurgence internationally, and to highlight the stand-out performers in our membership.
A CLIA Award is a chance for agents to put their name up in lights and show the world why they are among our region’s most professional travel advisors. It provides a huge career boost and helps raise their standing among clients – so put yourself forward for consideration, or nominate a colleague who deserves recognition.
Eighteen award categories will be judged in this year’s awards, including 11 open to self-nomination or peer-nomination. The awards are open to all current CLIA members in Australia and New Zealand, with nominations closing 30 November, 2023.
The Australian Cruise Consultant of the Year from our last awards, Sheron Konig from Travel Associates Rockhampton, says she has been flooded with cruise enquiry since her win.
“I have re-lived the moment so many times, and I just feel so privileged – firstly to be nominated, and then to win the title,” Sheron said. “It was truly a highlight of my career. I have been overwhelmed with cruise enquiry since the Awards in March. The award is recognition for me personally, but overwhelmingly it is pride for our Travel Associates Rockhampton team, that our efforts stood out to the judges.”
“The CLIAs” will be announced on Saturday 09 March at a gala celebration at Sydney’s Star Event Centre in Pyrmont.
