The CLIAs return for a well-earned celebration
By Joel Katz, Managing Director, CLIA Australasia
The CLIAs are back! The cruise industry’s biggest night of celebration will make its long-awaited return in March as CLIA hosts our first Cruise Industry Awards since 2020.
This time there will be plenty to celebrate as we highlight the incredible determination shown by our travel agent community and the remarkable resilience of our friends and colleagues.
Nominations are now open and we’re encouraging everyone to get involved.
For CLIA travel agents, this is an opportunity to put yourself forward as one of the stars of the Australian and New Zealand cruise community, or to highlight a colleague you want to see recognised for their talent and dedication.
Eighteen award categories will be judged, including 11 open to self-nomination or peer-nomination.
This year’s awards will also include a new category, the Cruise Line Champion, as a way for agents to salute their most supportive cruise line BDM or sales team member. This award will be presented to a cruise line representative in Australia or New Zealand who has gone above and beyond to back the travel trade, and who embodies CLIA’s mission of educating, advocating, and promoting on behalf of the cruise industry.
CLIA’s 20th Cruise Industry Awards will be announced on Saturday 11 March at a gala celebration at the Big Top at Luna Park Sydney. Entertainer Tim Campbell will return as our host for what promises to be a big night of festivity.
This year’s awards will play a special role in recognising the courage and tenacity of our region’s travel agents, as well as their expertise and success.
It’s a chance for the industry to thank our travel agent partners who have rallied behind cruising and helped put us back on a course for recovery.
