Rottnest Island

The highly anticipated Matagarup Bridge zip-line is now zipping into action. Similar to the Matagarup Bridge Climb, the zip-line adventure experience takes around 90 minutes, with guests having to climb 314 steps up the bridge to the launch platform, sitting over 72 metres above Perth’s iconic Swan River.

Vertigo, a new 42-metre-high viewing platform has just opened at Perth’s world-class Optus Stadium. Visitors and tour groups will be able to walk along the new platform, which projects around 10 metres beyond the edge of the stadium roof, offering spectacular 360-degree views over the stadium and Perth city.

Visitors to Perth’s Rottnest Island can now discover the island’s underwater wonders on a new snorkelling tour experience. Rottnest Snorkel tours operate a three-hour snorkelling experience led by highly experienced snorkelling guides. Guests will step on-board a custom-built 10 metre boat to cruise the island’s shallow bays and crystal clear waters.

Newly opened Origins Market offers a market like no other and a landmark destination for both locals and visitors to Busselton in WA’s South West region. The market showcases local produce and talent from more than 60 winemakers, farmers, producers, creators and artisans – all under one roof.

South West Cruises has launched a new dining concept in the Margaret River Region. The half-day Taste of the Bays Cruise is an indulgent foodie experience featuring an all-inclusive, seven-course progressive dinner on-board a 60-foot charter boat cruising through the calm waters of Dunsborough‘s Geographe Bay.

Ampersand Estate

The coastal town of Albany in WA’s Great Southern region recently welcomed the opening of the Hilton Garden Inn Albany. Offering stunning views over the Albany Waterfront Marina, it is conveniently located next to the Albany Entertainment Centre, and within walking distance of the town centre.

Located on the picturesque Donnelly River in the Southern Forests town of PembertonAmpersand Estates has recently opened its cellar door. The winery is a reimagining of the original Donnelly River Wines, which was one of the first wineries established in the region. In early 2022, the estate will also welcome the opening of three fully self-contained luxury accommodation offerings – Settlers Cottage, The Homestead and The Vintners Residence.

Events

Optus Stadium

WA plays host to an incredible range of world-class cultural, arts, sporting and culinary events throughout the year. For sporting fans, Perth’s state-of-the-art Optus Stadium will host some of the world’s biggest sporting rivalries, including the National Rugby League’s (NRL) State of Origin (June 26), the first of three International Rugby Tests where Australia will take on England (2 July), and the ICC Men’s T20 Cricket World Cup (October 16 to November 13). The annual Margaret River Pro is set to return from April 24 to May 4, with the World Surf League positioning the event as an exciting mid-season decider.

On the culinary calendar, in the heart of truffle country, Manjimup will host an incredible line-up of Australia’s top culinary talent when Truffle Kerfuffle returns from June 24 to 26. In the State’s North West, Broome’s annual Shinju Matsuri (festival of the pearl), will celebrate the town’s unique multicultural and pearling history from August 22 to September 5.
