EXPEDITION cruise line, Quark Expeditions, has revealed details and itineraries of its upcoming ship, Ultramarine, which will take passengers on a series of journeys around the picturesque Polar Regions from 2021.

The 199-passenger ship offers a range of balcony suites and restaurants, as well as a spa, with its smaller size claiming to be able to engage with nature on a more intimate level.

In addition, up to 20 Zodiacs are on stand by in a water-level hangar ready to take guests on a series of adventures, including newly developed and exclusive heli-hiking, heli-landing, flightseeing, alpine kayaking, mountain biking, and an ice sheet experience. Dual helicopters are also on hand to take passengers on an aerial experience high above the scenic landscapes.

Highlights of Ultramarine’s 2021 Arctic collection include the nine-day Greenland Adventure, which is scheduled to set sail between July and August 2021 on three separate departure dates. Guests will experience an in-depth exploration of Southern Greenland by land, sea and air, learning about the local environment and wildlife from the on board polar experts.

Other upcoming itineraries include the nine-day Arctic Express Canada experience which explores the Northwest Passage, the 10-day Intro into Spitzbergen, which showcases the fjords, glaciers and wildlife of Svalbard, and the 12-day Canada’s Remote Arctic, taking in the Northwest Passage to Ellesmere and Axel Heiberg Islands.
