NORWEGIAN Cruise Line Holdings (NCLH) will shortly be offering 24-hour coverage for Australian agents wanting assistance with bookings of Norwegian, Oceania and Regent Seven Seas Cruises. Harry Sommer, the company’s Senior Vice President, International, confirmed the expansion last month, telling travelBulletin the move was the result of technological innovations which will allow the linking of its in-house call centres in Sydney, Sao Paolo and Southampton into a seamless platform.

Sommer noted strong ongoing Australian demand for the company’s cruises in Europe, adding there had also been “exceptional growth” in bookings to Hawaii and Alaska as the local office continued to expand.

The company has seen its Australian and New Zealand business surge 130% since the local office was established in 2015, with a further 20% year-on-year expansion of sales forecast for 2020.
