ROTORUA has put the final touches on an experience tucked away deep in the Redwood Forest.

The Redwoods Treewalk takes guests up to 12m above the forest floor to the canopy to walk among the 116-year old trees. Located a five-minute drive out of the city, the attraction allows visitors to duck between platforms and amble across giant suspension bridges which stretch between 22 majestic Redwood Trees.

Redwoods Treewalk is open from 9am to 10pm. Visit at dusk to witness the natural light fade and the forest become illuminated by 30 lanterns and over 40 colour spots as part of the Redwoods Nightlights experience. Lights wrap around the tree trunks up to 2.5 metres and hang from the branches, complementing and contrasting with the natural environment.
