CHINA Southern Airlines (CZ) officially signed a code-share agreement with Qatar Airways (QR) on 16 September, effective from 15 January pending approval, allowing the two airlines to strengthen their relationship and improve customer experience.

The agreement will benefit China Southern’s network in the Middle East and provide its customers with more choice, allowing them to book flights on Qatar Airways between Doha and Guangzhou/Beijing and further connect to more than 80 destinations in the Middle East, Europe and Africa via Doha.

Additionally, China Southern Airlines launched a new airport lounge in collaboration with American Airlines on 1 August, to provide new lounge access and services to First and Business class passengers as well as Elite frequent flyer members.

The partnership allows China Southern’s passengers to access 50 American Airlines’ Admiral Club lounges at 34 airports around the globe, while American Airlines’ customers will be able to access China Southern Airlines’ 38 Sky Pearl Club Lounges at 23 airports across China.
