CRUISECO has named Nic Cola as its interim Chief Executive Officer following the sudden resignation of the organisation’s previous chief Amanda McClelland.

Cola brings a wealth of strategic, operational and transformational leadership to the organisation, with over 22 years of management and CEO experience across a diverse range of fields such as traditional media, education, digital media and e-commerce.

Highlights of his career to date have included being a founding executive of Fairfax Digital, which increased its revenue to $250 million under his tenure.

Cruiseco Chairman Kevin Dale believes that one strength of Cola’s appointment will be his ability to traverse an ever-increasing complexity in the cruise sector.

“Nic brings deep experience in building growth within complex organisations and delivering operations,” Dale said.

“In an ever-changing travel landscape, strategic thinking and the ability to service the customer is paramount to success.”

Speaking about his own appointment, Cola said that he was excited to join the organisation, stating technology would continue to be a big focus for Cruiseco under his watch.

“Cruiseco is guided by a solid strategy to package interesting product whilst exciting and delighting members…the adoption and development of CruisePRO remains a priority with its advanced technology enabling the business to capitalise on opportunities benefiting members and cruise line partners alike,” Cola said.

“Cruiseco is a team of great people who are passionate about cruise and serving their network of over 250 members,” he added.

The outgoing CEO Amanda McClelland had been with Cruiseco since July 2017.
