NEW Zealand’s cruising sector had cause to celebrate late last year, with Dream Cruises’ Explorer Dream sailing into Queens Wharf in Auckland for the first time on 15 December. She was greeted with a special toasting ceremony attended by Chief Executive, Auckland Tourism, Events and Economic Development Nick Hill and Cruise Operations Manager of Port of Auckland Leigh Robins. Renowned celebrity Chef Mark Best, who developed Explorer Dream’ s seafood grill menu, also made an appearance.

The 1,856-passenger ship homeported in Auckland until 26 January, where she offered a number of seven-night round-trip itineraries to destinations across the island nation, including Wellington, Dunedin, Milford Sound, Akaroa, Picton and Napier.
