WENDY Wu Tours Global CEO, Joe Karbo, left the business abruptly last month as part of a restructure, with the company advising that “the CEO role has been disbanded”. Karbo led the organisation for about three years, initially based in London but more recently managing the Australian office for the last 12 months.

The company’s founder, Wendy Wu, paid tribute to Karbo’s contributions, saying he had “led the global growth of the company” and in particular driven WWT’s digital transformation as well as overseeing the joint venture of the Victoria Mekong cruise ship which will enter service at the end of this year.

“We sincerely thank Joe for his commitment, support and dedication to the business throughout the last three years and wish him all the very best for his next role,” Wu said, confirming that the company was currently recruiting a MD for its Australia division.
