Peter Baily, the founder and long-term general manager of the Council of Australian Tour Operators (CATO) was farewelled at an event last month as he heads into retirement having devoted more than 50 years to the Australian travel industry.

Dignitaries heaped praise on Baily, thanking him for his contribution. “I am both humbled and honoured,” he said.
