TRAVELLERS looking to experience one of Solomon Island’s most remote spots, Lomlom Island, can now fly direct to the destination from Honiara thanks to a new service initiated by Solomon Airlines.
The one-hour 45-minute flight departs from Honiara’s Henderson Airport on board a Dash-8 aircraft and will initially operate on a weekly basis, however the airline has flagged plans to increase frequency going forward.
“This new service is highly significant for one of the remotest regions of the country, given the potential it holds for both business activities and the development of tourism undertakings,” said Solomon Airlines Manager Commercial, Colin Sigimanu. “We are very excited for this development.”
