Travel wouldn’t be as intoxicating if it weren’t for the stories it shares and creates. Intrepid Urban Adventures has launched a series of ‘In Focus’ tours designed to offer insight into local issues and the efforts to resolve them. Rather than hearing a story about a social project from a third-party guide, travellers will witness it and see firsthand how a particular issue is being addressed.
The ‘In Focus’ tours range from a Kolkata Solar Slum Tour, which takes travellers behind the scenes of Pollinate Energy, a social enterprise bringing solar light to India’s urban poor, to a Kathmandu cooking class, presented in partnership with Seven Women, a social enterprise that empowers marginalised women in Nepal through literacy classes, skills training, and income generation programs.
